Earlier this month, six Michelin-equipped teams raced their way on to the podium, securing six out of nine available spots at the 13th Malaysia Merdeka Endurance Race, held at the Sepang circuit.
LKM Racing of Hong Kong took third in the GT class category, Nexus Racing and BTB Racing Team finished first and second in the Sports Production category, while first, second and third places in the Touring Production category went respectively to Type R Racing Team, Jim Hunter Motorsport and Win Hing Motorsport.
“Michelin is using a better compound for its tyres this year and they lasted longer,” said Mohd Fahrizal Hassan, one of the drivers for Nexus Racing. The team achieved 283 laps in their Aston Martin this year, six laps up from last year.
A Michelin team were on hand to provide technical support to the teams throughout the race, carrying out fitments and ensuring the optimum tyre set-ups for the endurance race’s demanding conditions.
The company recently held its Pilot Experience roadshows in Johor Bahru, Penang and Shah Alam to engage its customers as well as the general public.
